The Global Climate Strike is happening THIS Friday 20th September, three days before the UN Climate Action Summit. Millions of school children around the world are calling on adults to join them in the streets and send a message to governments – now is the time for urgent and meaningful climate action.
As a registered environmental organisation, some of our staff and Board  will join the global climate strike urging world leaders to take serious action against climate change. PA will also continue to take local action in our communities and advocating for permaculture as one of the solutions for the climate issues we face.

Virginia Solomon, Chair of the Board, will join the Global Climate Strike in Melbourne with her 4 year old grandson. She says:
“I am striking in support of our planet and her climate. To me it is a simple choice: we only have one planet and we have been mistreating her for far too long. Where will our grand-children and their children live if our leaders continue to focus on the economy at the expense of the environment? It is up to us to redress the balance.”

“We are in a climate emergency! Action is needed now! We have fires in the rainforest in Queensland where there have never been fires before, and we have a government with its head firmly stuck in the sand. Urgent change is needed right now to turn this Titanic around.” – Wendy

“Why am I striking? Because it’s the right thing to do. I’m a parent and I care about the future for our daughter” – Cally
