CERES Permaculture Design Course

CERES Permaculture Design Course

The CERES Permaculture Design Course (PDC) is like a ‘user’s manual’ for the planet you live on. As we explore the huge elements that drive our living planet (energy, climate, geology, ecology etc) we will stay grounded in the simple, practical steps participants can take to live full and meaningful lives within the limits of what nature offers.
A CERES PDC packs in 100+ hours of learning and design experience. We opt for an extended format spread over many weeks to give all that new knowledge time to sink in.  Spread across approx 4 months, you’ll have midweek and weekend sessions at CERES in Brunswick East plus visits to inspiring permaculture sites in urban and rural Victoria, and be mentored by permaculture experts including Joel Meadows, Kat Lavers, Beck Lowe, Adam Grubb & Adrian Black.
Time: The PDC runs from Sat 8th August – Sat 5th December 2026.

Sessions will consist of:
9 Saturdays 9.30am-4.30pm
12 Wednesdays 6.30pm -9.30pm
2 Saturday & Sunday Weekend Field Trips
Full schedule available soon.
Cost: $2544 Full / $2289 Concession & CERES Members

Internship Opportunity: Anam Cara Forest Farm, Bega Valley NSW

Internship Opportunity: Anam Cara Forest Farm, Bega Valley NSW

3-month live-in internship · Accommodation & board provided

I’m putting out a call for one or two people who’d like to come and live at Anam Cara Forest Farm in the Bega Valley for around three months.

Anam Cara means “Soul Friend” — and after more than ten years of developing this place, I’m looking for people who want to learn, contribute, and perhaps experiment with ideas of their own.

What’s here:

This is a working forest farm on Djiringanj country. Over the past decade I’ve been practicing permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and farm forestry — learning what works in this landscape and what doesn’t. There are sheep, goats, and chickens. Infrastructure for hosting. A forested property that provides for our needs.

What I’m offering:

  • Accommodation and meals
  • The chance to learn from over a decade of hands-on experience
  • Space to experiment and put your own ideas into practice
  • A dynamic, reciprocal arrangement — not just a list of tasks

What I’m hoping for:

People who are genuinely curious. Who want to engage with the land, contribute meaningfully, and bring something of themselves to the work. This is an unpaid internship, but it’s also a chance to feel grounded in a beautiful place and learn by doing.

Interested?

Get in touch and let’s have a conversation. We can make a plan together that works for both of us.
