Permaculture Australia’s 2024 Permafund grant round has closed. Dozens of applications have been received from organisations in Australia and around the world.
Permafund Chair John Champagne reports ‘We’ve received many more applications than we have funds available for which demonstrates the global need that Permaculture inspired projects constantly face.
Now is a golden opportunity for communities to come together to raise funds for Permaculture Australia’s Permafund to assist those with the greatest need through its grants program and manifest the third ethic of Fair Share.’
Contributions made to the Permafund help support the many organisations who have applied for funds for their projects. For example, to conduct community education programs in food forestry to improve food security, soil quality and biodiversity plus create livelihoods. To design and install water management systems to harvest water, irrigate crops and prepare for drought and extreme weather events. Undertake revegetation projects to reduce erosion, provide windbreaks and shade, restore habitats, and offset the effects of climate change.
The successful applicants will be informed in late June 2024.
Community fundraisers such as open gardens and educational events provide excellent support for Permafund’s grant program. Gifts, tithes and donations made by individuals and businesses to the Permafund that are over $2 are tax deductible in Australia and are warmly welcomed.
Contributions to the Permafund can be made here. Many thanks
