Greta Carroll

Chair Person

Greta Carroll is a permaculture educator and small-scale organic farmer currently based on Wadawurrung Country. She has previously taught for Permaculture College Australia and is currently a course facilitator for Permaculture for Refugees and Goodlife Permaculture. Passionate about accessible, inclusive education, Greta has built curricula and learning experiences for diverse groups. She has worked with people in displacement settings for over a decade – in Australia as well as internationally – and served in the Board of Permaculture Australia in 2020.

Naomi Amber

Secretary

Naomi is a primary and high school science teacher with an honours degree in Forestry and a Diploma of Education. Prior to her 13 years in education, she worked as an ecologist for many years, both in the private and public sectors. Naomi has completed a PDC and more recently a Permaculture Teacher’s Certificate. She is passionate about inclusive education and increasing accessibility for learners with diverse needs. Naomi plans on undertaking further study and research in this area to help increase awareness and train educators in various sectors.

Felix Leibelt

Treasurer

Felix is a permaculture designer, chef and small business owner on Jerrinja land on the south coast of NSW. He has been on the Permafund Team for a few years now helping permaculture projects in need internationally. He is passionate about consciously designed landscapes, earthworks for land hydration and providing people with affordable organic and biodynamic produce. Felix grew up in the black forest in Germany and has built networks all around the world.  He has worked in the community for half a decade and is passionate about making permaculture design accessible to people in need. 

Toad Dell

Toad Dell (they/them) is a permaculture designer, teacher and co-founder of PermaQueer, an organisation seeking to make permaculture more accessible to LGBTIQA+ and BIPOC communities. Toad is particularly excited about the diverse ways permaculture design can be applied in social and economic settings to uplift diverse communities and make permaculture more accessible to younger people. Currently they reside in Wangerriburras country, Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast hinterlands with their partner where they teach permaculture.

Charlie Mgee

Charlie Mgee is a songwriter, permaculture activist and founder of Formidable Vegetable, an ecological dance band that has promoted permaculture to a global audience for over 10 years at many international permaculture convergences & events as well as festivals such as Glastonbury. His music has received multiple awards and been featured by the United Nations for the International Year of Soil.

Linda Woodrow

Linda is an Permaculture icon in Australia and internationally. Her 1996 book “The Permaculture Home Garden” introduced Permaculture to innumerable homes, and her recent novel “470” has offered an extraordinarily prescient analysis of the impacts of climate change. Linda’s decades of experience in the Permaculture movement in Australia means she brings a deep historical perspective to the board. Her 40 years of living ethically and sustainably, her experience of teaching Permaculture in the VET system, her wise and gentle approach to the world all enhance her capacity to provide guidance and direction to Permaculture Australia. Her engagement, ,through her writing, with recent and current crises (climate change; pandemic) demonstrate Linda’s capacity to offer clarity and vision to PA’s mission for the future

Alex Aguilar

Hi! My name is Alex (he/him). I am a digital marketer with a background in IT & Systems and over 6 years of experience working for the Travel, Retail and Energy sectors.
Originally from Mexico, I spent much of my childhood at my grandparents’ cattle farm. As a young adult, I moved to Naarm (Melbourne), where I was introduced to permaculture by my teacher Delldint Fleming. The completion of my PDC and a strong passion for plants – especially edible ones; were the catalysts in the decision to move to Gunditjmara country in Western Victoria, together with my partners. Now, myself a farmer, actively managing, designing and working on my 4-acre property, my life story seems to come full circle: surrounded by rolling
hills, with lots of cows as neighbours, implementing a permaculture design in a traditional farm setting.
