Savour Soil Permaculture
Making Permaculture Real
Savour Soil Permaculture is a South East Queensland-based permaculture education, design and consulting practice dedicated to helping people create resilient, regenerative and abundant landscapes. Founded on the belief that sustainability should be practical, achievable and deeply rewarding, our mission is simple: Make it Real.
We work with homeowners, landholders, community groups, schools and organisations to transform ideas into thriving living systems that provide food, habitat, beauty and long-term resilience. Through education, design and consultation services, we empower people to take meaningful action towards a more sustainable future.
What We Do
Education & Training
Our workshops, Permaculture Design Courses (PDCs), field days, childcare incursions, school incursions, and practical learning experiences are designed to be engaging, hands-on, and inspiring. We work with childcare centres, primary schools, secondary schools, community groups, businesses, and adult learners to create learning environments that build confidence, practical skills, and a deeper understanding of regenerative living.
Our school and childcare programs are tailored to suit different age groups and may include topics such as food growing, composting, worm farming, pollinators, bush foods, sustainability, nature connection, and environmental stewardship. Through interactive and experiential education, participants learn how to apply permaculture principles in their homes, schools, communities, and workplaces.
Design & Consultancy
We provide personalised permaculture design and consultation services for urban, suburban, and rural properties. Our design process focuses on understanding the unique goals, opportunities, and challenges of each site, helping clients regenerate soil, harvest water, increase food production, enhance biodiversity, and create beautiful, functional landscapes.
Growing Communities Lockyer Valley
Savour Soil Permaculture is proud to lead the Growing Communities Lockyer Valley Project, a bioregional initiative focused on strengthening local food systems, community resilience, and regenerative land stewardship. Working with farmers, growers, community groups, businesses, schools, childcare centres, and residents, the project seeks to identify opportunities for collaboration, increase local food security, and support the transition towards a thriving regenerative regional economy.
Through bioregional design principles, the project explores how communities can work together to enhance ecological health, economic resilience, and social wellbeing across the Lockyer Valley.
Wild Abundance Nursery
The Wild Abundance Nursery is our dedicated plant propagation and nursery project, focused on growing diverse, productive, and resilient plants suited to South East Queensland conditions. Specialising in edible, medicinal, habitat, and support species, the nursery provides locally adapted plants that help people establish thriving food forests, regenerative farms, and productive home gardens.
The nursery serves as both a plant source and an educational resource, demonstrating the importance of biodiversity and appropriate plant selection in regenerative design.
Community Resilience
At the heart of our work is a commitment to strengthening local food systems, building practical life skills, and fostering community resilience. We believe that every garden, farm, school, childcare centre, and community space has the potential to become part of a regenerative future. Through education, design, food-growing initiatives, school and childcare programs, and community partnerships, we help create the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to build thriving and resilient communities.
Our Approach
Drawing upon over two decades of practical experience in permaculture, horticulture and regenerative land management, Savour Soil Permaculture combines ecological design with practical implementation. Our work is guided by the ethics and principles of permaculture while remaining grounded in real-world outcomes that are achievable, productive and enjoyable.
Whether teaching a workshop, designing a food forest, consulting on a rural property or supporting a community project, our goal is to help people cultivate healthy landscapes, abundant harvests and meaningful connections with the natural world.
