Over this weekend you will learn how to create a food system that can cope with extreme heat, drought, frost and more.
Coping with extreme heat – Plant responses to heat, adaptation in plants, creating natural micro climates, building simple garden structures
Managing water for drought – water requirements for fruit trees, and vegetables. water needs for farm animals, capture and storage, water use and irrigation.
Food plants and fruit tree selection for now and the climate future. Disaster and emergency preparation
The workshop is led by Debbie Hunt who holds a Masters degree in food security and rural sustainable development as well as having eight years experience developing a permaculture inspired self sufficiency food system.
