City Farm Project Manager

  • $109,484 p.a. plus superannuation
  • Performance based contract up to 3 years
  • Option to enter into a 19 day month working arrangement

Council recently endorsed the City Farm Business Plan and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City’s Parks Services team to help coordinate the next steps in the delivery of the City Farm.
We are looking for an energetic, dedicated and natural collaborator to deliver the infrastructure and programs outlined in our City Farm vision.
The City Farm will provide a number of social, cultural and community benefits and has been supported by leading educational institutions. The City Farm Project Manager will oversee the development and commencement of operations and deliver a vibrant and creative meeting place for recreational and cultural activities, events and educational programs. City Farms and urban agriculture are receiving increasing attention worldwide and the City Farm will assist in addressing food security issues by producing affordable and accessible local fresh produce, supporting disadvantaged households, and educating people about sustainable food production and preparation.
The primary responsibilities of the role are to guide and direct the development and implementation of the City Farm project by engaging the community, managing stakeholders, delivery of the farm master plan and construction stages, implement farm operations and governance in line with the approved business plan. You will help the City Greening and Leisure unit to achieve the City’s Sustainable Sydney 2030 objectives and champion community involvement progress of the City Farm.
You will have experience in project management, engagement, volunteer and stakeholder management, business and commercial operations, reporting, collaborative processes, and project planning. You will have an understanding of project implementation, education programs and an ability to work autonomously and coordinate communication and marketing requirements for the City Farm.
