Permaculture Celebration & Twilight Market

This fun, low-cost gathering is a great ‘taster’ event for those curious about permaculture and unable to attend the convergence. Formidable Vegetable will headline the evening so we can all dance together and celebrate sustainable living.

The main event, with three epic days of workshops, hands-on activities, discussions, keynote presentations and social activities. All led by inspiring permaculture educators from around Australia and beyond.

Apply to host a stall at our Permaculture Celebration and Twilight Market, being held on Friday, 21 April. Be quick, stallholder applications close 31 March.

Want to showcase your own permaculture project or sustainability activity? Register your event as part of the Month of Permaculture in April 2023 and invite the public to experience South Australia’s wide range of permaculture projects, businesses and events.

Anyone can apply to join the Month of Permaculture — it’s free to register your event and you keep all of your proceeds.

Your event topics might include:

  • Permaculture Design Courses
  • Permaculture Teacher Training
  • Guided tours/walks
  • Volunteer placements, stays at permaculture projects, WWOOFing
  • Permablitzs and other place-based community activity
  • Lectures and demonstrations
  • Courses, workshops and masterclasses
  • Art, music, comedy and fashion event

Costa Georgiadis is a landscape architect and host of ABC’s Gardening Australia, who has an all-consuming passion for plants and people. His holistic approach is all about gardening the soil and the soul.

Known for her advocacy and workshops in permaculture skills, Kirsten founded Milkwood with Nick Ritar in 2007. She is an experienced  grower, natural beekeeper, pickler, forager teacher, learner and community builder — and the author of best-selling books Milkwood: Real Skills for Down-to-Earth Living and Easy Peasy. She is a bit in love with seaweed, also.

An Earth Hall of Fame Award recipient in 2019, Ego is an environmental activist, musician, writer and educator from Timor-Leste. Creator and director of Permatil, leading over 20 years of sustained and growing impact through permaculture, food-sovereignty and water restoration projects across Timor-Leste and internationally.

Permaculture Illustrator

Brenna Quinlan is an illustrator and educator who strives to make the world a better place through her art and her actions. She co-runs Grow Do It Permaculture Education, bringing climate solutions to kids (and their grown ups) through art, music and creativity. Brenna is currently building her own strawbale house out of reclaimed materials in Western Australia on Noongar boodja.

Healthy Soils Australia

An inspirational and engaging soil scientist, focusing on healthy soil as a key platform for climate mitigation, adaptation and our resilient future. Making the technical easily digestible, Walter explains how this happens and how we can be the change-makers to restore ecosystem function in our back yards, farms and beyond

While APC tickets are now sold out, you still have the option of ‘paying it forward’.

These funds will be used to support people who cannot afford to attend, with preference given to Indigenous attendees.

The Australian Permaculture Convergence 2023 will be held at the beautiful Mount Barker Waldorf School, at Yaktunga / Mount Barker in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills. On-site camping will be available.
