The Autumn ‘Katoomba Street Permaculture’ Design Course (PDC) is now complete. We had great fun and both Kat Szuminska and I personally learnt lots from the students as well. Our ‘hands on’ activity was meant to be elsewhere but with ALL the rain of late, our timetable had to be arranged and rearranged for any out door activities in the hope of […] View

    Hi April
Her feet have remained browny and her skin greyish; it’s the colour of the feather that has changed. Sadly I don’t have a before photo. She is not a very cuddly duck I’m afraid, definitely a ’worker’ not a pet, so catching her isn’t really an option, but I would say her skin is quite sensitive.
It’s just one of those things I guess.…[Read more]

Has anyone had this happen to them?
One of my Khaki Campbell ducks cut her foot badly a couple of months ago. It’s all healed and she is now fine…but since her last moult she is almost completely white.
It’s as if she is going ’grey’ before her time. I have never experienced this before

no i haven’t seen that – are both feet going white? all the skin white?
can you pick her up and tickle the skin and does she respond to your touch or is it numb?

Just found the caption to go with the photo: Here’s a photo of one of my classes this Term at Katoomba Community Garden – the sheep was very interested in the idea of weed management especially the dandelions!

TAFE year just about over. I LOVE teaching through Outreach. I can influence for more people all over the Blue Mountains around permaculture’s ethics and principles, far more than I ever could if I was teaching through the local Horticultural Department. Here’s a photo of one of my classes this Term at Katoomba Community Garden – the sheep was…[Read more]
