What are the three levels of membership for Permaculture Australia?

1. Ordinary (full) membership

... is $35 per year and is open to those who have completed a:

  • Permaculture Design Course (PDC) or
  • hold an Accredited Permaculture Training (APT) qualification Certificate III, IV or Diploma.

2. Associate membership

... is $25 per year and is open to all supporters (no PDC or APT requirement applies)

3. Incorporated membership

There are three levels of incorporated membership, those organisation have:

  1. Permaculture ethics that are central to the aims and objectives as stated in the organisation’s constitution
  2. Permaculture practices that are central to the organisation’s operations and activities as evidenced by it’s constitution and/or annual reports

The annual Incorporated Membership fees are:

  • $50  for member-based non-profit incorporated organisations with up to 100 members
  • $70 for member-based non-profit incorporated organisations with over 100 members
  • $75 for non-membership and for-profit incorporated organisations.
PAY Incorporated membership (up to 100 members — $50 annual fee)
PAY Incorporated membership (over 100 members — $70 annual fee)
PAY Incorporated membership (non-m/s, for-profit — $75 annual fee)

  • All new applications are to be approved by the board of directors at the next regular board meeting. If, for any reason, your membership application can not be approved, you will be notified and your membership fee will be refunded.
  • Once you are a member you can join the conversations in the groups and forums section of the website
  • Once you are a member you can add your permaculture business to our directory
  • Permaculture International (PIL) is trading as Permaculture Australia (PA).

    I direct debited to obtain membership in Nov/Dec.
    When do i receive confirmation and membership details so i can access the forums etc.

    I am currently studying my diploma. Does this mean I need to apply for associate membership and then upgrade when my studies are complete?

      Hi Naomi-

      The Diploma usually incorporates a PDC, which is the criterion for membership. This is often awarded after the first semester of study. You can apply for ordinary membership, on the basis that as a Diploma student, you will shortly achieve a PDC, if you haven’t already qualified.

    Hi Drew

    I’m doing my diploma through riverina tafe so not sure about the PDC. Whatever you guys are happy with Im happy to roll with . Would be great to chat with people as I do the course over the next 18mths so just let me know which membership type I should be signing up with and I’ll make it happen :)
