MORE INFO:

A Diploma of Permaculture is a qualification for people who are working, or wanting to work, as project managers on permaculture community development projects, as permaculture systems designers or consultants, and in developing and/or managing permaculture ethical enterprises including permaculture education. This course is Nationally Accredited and thus recognised by all other Australian institutions and government agencies, including Centrelink.
The Diploma course will be held two days per week over three semesters at PepperGreen Farm in Bendigo. No knowledge is assumed and all knowledge and skill requirements will be covered in the classroom sessions and backed up by work placements in the third semester. Topics covered include: permaculture principles and practices, and design, research techniques, project management, strategic planning and community development as they relate to permaculture. The cost for this course is $1500 with concessions available for those who do not already have a Diploma or higher qualification.
A self-guided Diploma in Permaculture study option is available to those already working in the industry, or who have done previous permaculture study, who have a good existing knowledge of permaculture principles and practices. Students will be expected to complete assessment tasks whilst working on their own permaculture projects, and are responsible for filling in their own knowledge gaps through research and reading. The class will meet once per month to share ideas and experiences with other students and tutors, hand in assessment items, and discuss projects and assessment tasks face-to-face. This is an economical alternative to RPL for those who have industry experience and are wanting to get an official qualification. Acceptance into this course will be decided by interview only. The cost for this course is $1500 with concessions available for those who do not already have a Diploma or higher qualification.
